Love's lesser percentage,
always slipping from men's gazes
as never worth the trouble
but others value it's rarity
as justification of life
and it's spark brings everything shine.

Neither know the bitter dissatisfaction
creasing the faces of age,
living after all loves die.
This neurotic addictive dependency
(so much placed upon it)
destroys all immunity to loneliness
and rewiring connections in the mind,
blurring stimulus and emotion to one,
it makes the sun shine through rainstorms.

Absence makes the soul bleed faster
and presence only faster still,
but so softly and so sweetly
does your kiss make smiles grow
and the challenge of you make me more.
